Retina Evaluation & Diabetic Eye Care

Regular retinal screening is essential for patients with diabetes, as diabetic retinopathy is a progressive and sight-threatening condition. Early stages often have no symptoms, making routine examinations crucial.

Retinal examination is performed after dilating the pupils using special eye drops. This allows detailed evaluation of the retina, optic nerve, macula, and peripheral retina.

Temporary blurring of near vision and light sensitivity may occur for a few hours after dilation. The examination is painless.

Retinal evaluation also helps detect other conditions such as macular degeneration, hypertensive retinopathy, and peripheral retinal weaknesses.
